Racism and Politics

Recommended Posts

Seems to be a hot topic these days.

Why do you believe either the Democrats or the Republicans to be racist in their policy? Please cite a specific policy or institutionalized practice that you believe to be racist, we don't need anymore copies of third person rants.

I don't believe any group to be racisct, with the exception of the obvious ones, like the KKK, and the Arian whatevers.

I don't think the political parties are racist, as some do, I think thier policies (left) hinder the minorities from learning how to succeed. If you don't have to work to live, then you never learn how to strive harder, thus never learning how to better yourself. Another way is that if money is given to you and you can live on that, why bother trying to make more when you don't have to do anything to get what you are getting now?

I do however think that there are individuals that are racist biggots. If you listen to or read the news, you already know that those people are usually of color and extremists.
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

I wholeheartedly agree with your statement and last time I checked no one is a sheet of bleached paper or a pool of asphalt.. or half and half black/white....white/black depending on which side of the face in a Star Trek episode I once saw that pertained to rampant racism that destroyed a world. Yeah yeah yeah.. Hollyweird left wing propaganda again... but it was written in a time of race riots and divisiveness as a social commentary. We are ALL people of color. Racism encompasses far more than just the race relations in this country between ethnic/religeous minorities and white european descendants.

Its a fellow American to be who likes to continuously use the term Towel Head....
Its the person who talks of doing business with someone and instead of useing the term bargaining for a better price uses the term "jewing" the other person down.
It's the user who alludes to all islamic people as animals who deserve to be killed as his ancestors had to do to rid their country of them.
Its the user who in a derogatory comment about something being " so gay" since it is completely acceptable in this time to discriminate openly against homosexuals.
It pertains to those who give tacit approval of this by their silence rather than speaking up and letting them know how you feel about their racist, religionist, homophobic remarks.

Extremists are just that, and they sit on both sides of the political spectrum. To follow their extremism hurts all of us. Since Jimbo did not want 3rd party opinions/links I did not post any of the myriad of links available.
You only need to do a search on these strings and voila all the reading you could want. But beware some of the content is fairly vitreolic.

All you have to do is read on the CCC site... take your pick of articles. This is far closer to where our government is currently sitting than the article someone put up the other day about a resurgence of the Black Panther Party, or racist demagogs like Louis Farrakhan. Interesting that their hate sounds so similar from the far right and the far left and it ends up making us less of the American ideal we purport to be to the rest of the world.
