Zeemax 0 #1 December 22, 2003 so i get out of the tube this morning, walking up oxford street to work and what do i see driving up the road... a HYDROGEN powered bus i'd heard mayor ken had bought three, but i thought it was one of things that was never going to happen. But no no no no... there it was with people on it and everything. I was so impressed. Dont really think anyone else on oxford street could give a monkeys, but ah well... there was hactual steam coming out of the exhaust! and on a freezing morning like today it looked like huge clouds of thick white smoke, really cool ! yeah, i need to get out more...Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies

caz 0 #4 December 22, 2003 Yeah I saw one of them round Oxford Circus way the other day. The sooner they introduce them on more routes the better, I still have to go on the old door-at-the-back buses every day. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
Zeemax 0 #5 December 22, 2003 lol, theres only three of them... i think the price tag of just over a million each will keep it that way for the time being, but they're bloody cool. I just wish they would hurry up with the technology so we could have it in our cars, industry etc... what about a hydrogen powered jump ship?? waters cheaper than jet fuel = cheaper jump tickets!!Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
kingbunky 3 #6 December 22, 2003 yeah, that would be cool, but if it cost you half a million to retrofit your cessna, who'd buy one? "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
caz 0 #7 December 22, 2003 sounds good to me, but in the meantime I can just carry on practicing my exit positions in the door of the bus as we hurtle at top speed round various obstacles. They just need to install a little hanging rail or something for floating exits. Yeah, you can get it from water, but it takes the same amount of energy to pry it from the from the water and it gives up when you burn it and turn it back to water again.
