Cornholio 0 #1 December 23, 2003 Take a listen to this sound coming from my hard drive. It's a maxtor 46GB drive about 3-4 years old. I think it's about time to retire this drive. And no, it's not a system drive, just a scratch drive for CD burning and Video editing. www.jaffie.com/matt/maxtor-noises.wav Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 December 23, 2003 I'm sure I've heard some trance tracks that start off like that . You can get 80 gig drives for about 40 quid now. Might as well get a new one____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
AggieDave 6 #3 December 23, 2003 Naw dude, sounds like you need a new timing belt and spark plugs for your drive...that's all. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
kingbunky 3 #4 December 23, 2003 what, you work for the dealer or something? a llittle grease and/or wd40 will fix that right up, no parts required. seriously though, i was having hard drive problems and a friend suggested i put it in the freezer overnight. i took it out, put it in a zip lock baggie and into the freezer. put it back in in the morning and it's been running fine ever since! give it a go, it's free."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." Y'know, that's the second time I've heard of that in the last few months. The guy who told me about it tried it and it worked for long enough to get his data off of the old drive. Beats me what it does for it but regardless what you do in the future, back up your data now! Blue skies and happy landings!
