skybytch 273 #1 December 23, 2003 I've been checking the website for the local paper in San Luis Obispo county, California (where the earthquake was), often this afternoon, hoping to find fresh updates. On a whim I clicked on the link on the front page to obituaries. There were none for today. I'm bored this evening so I clicked on the link for yesterday. Didn't recognize any names. Clicked on four more dates this month, didn't recognize any names there either. Then I clicked on 12/17. I'd skipped over it, looking at the 18th and the 16th. And I found a name I recognized. Lois was my next door neighbor for 7 years in San Simeon, California. She worked at the liquor store across the street from my mom's gas station; both my ex and I worked for my mom and also worked at the liquor store with Lois for awhile. She was a single mom; her daughter Kim was a great kid. They never had much in the way of material things but they were always happy. She of course thought my ex and I were nuts when we started jumping, but she'd listen to our stories and smile... Last time I was in the area with my son we made a point of stopping by the liquor store and saying hi. I'm glad we did. Godspeed, Lois. I'll never forget enjoying those sunsets with you as we broke down boxes behind the store.

Michele 1 #7 December 23, 2003 Hugs, Lis. Isn't it amazing who has impacted our lives, and how we feel when they pass? It's odd, and yet oh-so-wonderful. Godspeed, indeed. And love to you, and like I said, I really miss you! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
