FeMike 0 #1 December 24, 2003 The plane in the foreground is fellow Perris Skydiver and pilot Mike Mangold's. The plane doing the high alpha pull up is Kirby Chamblis', who's wife Kelli is a pilot at Eloy. Anyone who saw Mike fly at Perris knows how cool Zivkos are. McDuck 0 #4 December 24, 2003 Once my girlfriend gets her commercial license, I'm going to see if she'll try flying one of THOSE...after the prerequisite 35 hours of training, of course. Aviatrr 0 #5 December 24, 2003 NOICE!! I've flown the 540 a few times.....sweet airplane! Unlimited Class is an understatement for that airplane. I taught a guy to fly aerobatics many years ago in a Pitts S2B and an Extra 300, and a couple years ago he bought a 540. I ran into him at OshKosh, and he told me about his plane. I joked about taking it for a "spin", and he handed me the key. Mike
FeMike 0 #6 December 24, 2003 Who's Edge did you fly? I flew one once. Mike's is for sale.....My favorite acro mount is the Sukhoi 31. I have about 1200 hours in the Pitts and it does great knife edge and looks cool but nothing beats the Sukhoi....Even the Edge.

Ron 10 #9 December 24, 2003 I want one.....Scratch that I NEED one. I have told folks several times that if I had a good Acro plane I could easily quit jumping. I have time in Decathalons, Citabrias some time in a Great Lakes...But nothing in something like that. I have toyed with the idea of renting a Pitts or and Edge....Now Im thinking about it again. riggerrob 643 #10 December 24, 2003 A few years back, Mike Mangold took me up for a half-hour's worth of aerobatics in his Pitts S2. He talked me through all the usual stalls and spins (both upright and inverted) inside and outside loops etc. Sure the Pitts did all the same moves as a Cessna 150 Aerobat, just a lot QUICKER! That is the only time I have ever seen stars while flying an airplane. Mike helped me overcome my fear of aerobatics. Now I just need a spare lotto ticket to get good at it.
