CrazyIvan 0 #2 December 25, 2003 2 things: 1- The encoding is PAL instead of NTSC 2- The 'Region' for that DVD is not #1 (U.S.A) You'll have to convert it with the proper software__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. juanesky 0 #3 December 25, 2003 Merry Christmas. I think he send it to you in PAL format. I think you should try to find a place that can do this convertion....."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
kerouhak 0 #4 December 25, 2003 merry chrismas from bonnie Scotland!! From my workplace (drew the short straw, why did I choose a job in the newspaper industry) and why, for that matter do people crave newspapers on boxing day anyway!! You may wish to try versiontracker.com, there are utils for region changing of your DVD drive in your computer. If it's PAL (more than likely) you need to set to region 2 good luck and all the best /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/\/\/\ Do I see you laughin? kerouhak 0 #5 December 25, 2003 just had a further thought.. If you can't find anything, rather than shelling out for transfer, I could ship you out a muli region DVD player from over here, they're ridiculously cheap and will play almost anything!!/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/\/\/\ Do I see you laughin? DJatLarge 0 #6 December 25, 2003 You might try to change the regional code on your DVD player. On most players, you can go into set up and change the regional code. But you can only do this a couple times before it sticks to one.... not sure how that works, it's what someone told me once. You can try to change the code, and change it back when you are done. Might work anyway
weegegirl 2 #7 December 25, 2003 Wow. Thank you soooooo much everybody for your responses. They are so helpful. I thought it might be PAL, but I wasn't sure... and my brother had no idea at all. I tried to change the DVD player to Region 2, but it wasn't an option in the Setup menu. Next, I'm going to try to change the computer settings. The idea for getting a multi-version dvd player is great too! I think I'll wait and do that as a last resort. Again, thanks so much. This should definately help. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! btw... it's snowing a LOT outside! happy jumping everyone! -liz
Remster 30 #8 December 25, 2003 QuoteThe idea for getting a multi-version dvd player is great too! I think I'll wait and do that as a last resort. Multiregions are less commum in the US, but I can vouch that the Philips DVD players you can buy at Walmart can be remote-hacked to Multiregion very easily. CAD$ 218 for pro scan. It doenst help you for computer based players, but you never know....Remster
