indyz 1 #26 December 24, 2003 It's 9:24 AM. I've been here for a little over 20 minutes. My work for today is done, now I just have to sit around until noon and hope that no emergencies happen (*knock on wood*)

indyz 1 #28 December 24, 2003 That'd be me. I finished all of my projects last week, so I'm just manning the help desk in case one of the lawyers can't figure out how to maximize a window or something.

bshl 0 #34 December 24, 2003 They're letting us leave at noon today and paying us for the whole day. I think they're feeling guilty about not paying us what the rest of the industry makes... Blue skies and happy landings!

pilotdave 0 #39 December 24, 2003 QuoteI'd say on any given day I only do about 15 minutes of real work.... Sometimes my job reminds me SO much of the movie Office Space. I once got an email about a new format for PSM Memos. I decided not to, but I almost wrote back "I have no clue what a PSM Memo is, but my TPS reports are just great!" At least I only have 2 bosses. It just gets awkward because they work for two different companies that have 2 different sets of policies and procedures, holiday schedules, and work ethics. My boss came over to me yesterday at 1:15 and told me we better go home and test our emergency communications in case we need to get in touch with each other over the xmas break. He came back a minute later and said "let me put that another way. I'm leaving in 10 minutes. If you're still here when I leave, you're fired." DShiznit 0 #47 December 24, 2003 See, that's what I get for working in a small company where I report directly to the president, who cuts my paychecks directly from his pocket. Maybe next year when I have been here longer I can take more time off, but for now I only get Christmas Day and New Year's Day off, unpaid.
