Why tounges?

Why is it that almost, no, EVERY skydiver I have seen that has made it past the coaching jumps and AFF and gotten thier A license, (not excluding the ones that havent, but not every one of them does) cannot seem to smile without using thier tounge?

I noticed this in Eloy. At one time or another during the day the tounge makes it's appearance in a happy gesture of friendship or Joy.

Is this the only sport that that happens - I mean, i don't see basketball players doing it that much, or tennis players, or baseball players, Etc, Etc. . .

On our AFF1 we have to sign off left/right by using tongue pokes, maybe it just gets into the subconcious there and never leaves
