Gawain 0 #3 December 29, 2003 QuoteLeaving for Eloy in the morning. Hope no ones used up all the fun. I'm right behind ya. I'll be leaving from SoCal hopefully no later than 9:00AM, and will hopefully be filling in waivers just as the sun is setting. I've polished my cast-iron shoe. Hope to average 85-90 in CA and 75-80 in AZ. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! LouYoung 0 #4 December 29, 2003 You should be able to average more in AZ than in CA. Interstate speed limits in AZ are 75, which means you should be going at least 85 to 90. The speeds in CA are still 70 mph, right? Lou
quade 4 #5 December 29, 2003 Be that as it may. Whenever you get off the freeway and are on surface streets going to Eloy -- OBEY THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS!!! Which may, depending on which road you take near Eloy be as ridiculously low as 25 mph.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #9 December 29, 2003 Naw, I think he felt sorry for me 'cause I had a chick in the car. Either that or he saw all the crap in my back seat and figured I had enough problems already. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

The speeds in CA are still 70 mph, right? Indeed, my main concern was the "attitude" of the highway patrol. CHPs main objective is not speed enforcement, and I was erring on the side of caution for the AZ Troopers. I'm leaving now...see you all there! If there's no sign of me by noon tomorrow, request a search team to look for bits and pieces of a silver Acura CL along Interstate 8. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Gawain 0 #11 December 30, 2003 Well, I made it! It's neat here. I got to meet HH and Sunshine so far...and Vanillaskygirl too. Saw Viking again. Anyway, made the trip just shy of 5 hours. Overall average of about 84MPH The dial up access from the hotel is a lousy 12kbps but hey I don't expect much surfing whilst jumping .So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! AZ troopers? *snort* Well...lessee...both freeways near my home are posted 65MPH...and I don't think I've ever seen anyone going slower than 80MPH. Going from Mesa to Eloy or Coolidge, we average soemwhere around 85MPH.... Not that you absolutely won't have a problem...just, I haven't seen it being a problem. -------------------------------------------- Elfanie My Skydiving Page Fly Safe - Soft Landings
