mailin 0 #26 December 29, 2003 Front rotors, Front pads, back shoes + labor. Keep in mind that its a Kia - a korean car, so the parts are much too much money. I have a mechanic at a local junkyard do the work on all mine and my husbands cars (now 5 cars total), and he's been great. favaks 0 #27 December 29, 2003 My gf owns a 98 Sephia and had the brakes redone a few times. The brakes on the 98 Sephia and some later models and defective. They'll wear out in a matter of months. There is an on going class action lawsuit against Kia, because of the brakes. You might even get your money back. -favaks
jcameron 0 #28 December 30, 2003 WHEW.. oh man I am so glad you are talking about cars.. and not what I was thinking at first... as in KIA and which DZ. Commer in the mid east ain't coning back....one of the reasons I HATE to open up the incidents forum. *I am so glad my first thought was wrong.
Skyrose7 0 #29 December 30, 2003 oh geez... sorry I didn't make that clear, but you see merely innocent car talk here. Thank you everyone for your input. I was only going to buy new because the kia's are cheap. If they aren't reliable at all, I will get a good reliable used car instead. Hmmph, I will probably spend less and be able to get my new rig then, and my new base rig, and my camera set up, and.... ok, wishful thinking... Thanks for the info. I think I will look into honda civic--used. any other suggestions welcome!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. JUMP. DeNReN 0 #30 December 30, 2003 Hey Rose...As with any new to market car, the Kia...will take time to work all the bugs out...personally I would NOT buy one nore keep one if given to me. The 2 best makes on the market (unless your wealthy) are Honda and Toyota...both are not cheap to purchace or repair ...but the quality of the vehicle more then makes up for purchace and repair costs...Civic's are excellent cars if properly maintained...same as Tercel's(cant say too much about the tercel replacement...the echo...just dont like the styling).....spend a few extra bucks and buy a Toyota or a Honda...You WILL be happier in the long run.
