Hear hear! Even if it can be proven that she DID commit the terrible acts, I think we can all agree that she wasn't/isn't right in the head. If we put to death all the people who are mentally ill, who would be left?

It's horrible and has happened before. These women become obsessed with having babies and will do anything possible to get one. Many times they have faked a pregnancy and somehow need to come up with a child. They will either kidnap a newborn or do like this woman did and stalk a pregnant woman , killing her and taking the child from her womb. Very , very sad...... Obviously they are very mentally disturbed and I don't know if death is the correct punishment for that. Very sad..

Don't be mislead just because the article is on a NOW website....I have read other articles that have the same information. Despite pregnant women being killed by other women who want to take the baby , they are also killed by their husbands and boyfriends who don't want the baby.. .....homicide is the leading cause of death in pregnant women.

An article in the LA Times said that another reason is because in an abusive relationship, abuser wants to be #1 in the woman's life, and when the woman's attention turns more towards the child she's carrying, the abuser feels very threatened by it.

Curious as to where in the hell u came up with this crap. It may cost more if we let them sit there fore 20 years which is ludicrus, if the guilt is obvious and without protestable evidence, they shouldn't have to suffer there more than a year before we help them burn in hell. I think that the cost figures for both are pretty much available. As for the value of this human life,$0.

But the judicial system allows for appeals, which most death-row inmates will invariably make, costing the taxpayers MORE money, which is what Kev was referring to, I believe.

And I think Conway was stating that they shouldn't get appeals, they should be taken out back and shot even though I can think of 3 people this year alone being exhonerated by DNA evidence and released after spending more than a decade in prison.

My view on the Death Penalty is that if you are found guilty and sentenced to death you get one appeal within 30 days. If your appeal is denied then you are put to death 30 days later. IMHO too much time and money is spent on appeals, briefs, etc.. I mean 9-12 years making appeals is why our judicial system is in total disarray. So much for the right to a speedy trial.
