JerseyShawn 0 #1 February 9, 2011 I have a new Viplo FT50/60. 8 jumps on it. On the 6th jump at 6000 feet it started jumping from 6000 to 4000 back and forth. I was locked on it for about 3-4 seconds and it stayed there. Waved off and pulled. Had it pressure tested, it worked fine. They also had someone jump it for me. Worked fine. Jump 7 and 8, it was reading about 400 feet higher than everyone elses on the way to altitude. Read 0 on the ground when I landed. I always triple check it to 0 on the ground before we load, that's not the problem. Should I waste my money getting it fixed or looked at again? Or just buy something better? Anyone have problems with Viplos? Im not going to jump it again until its fixed or I get a new one. Any recommendations are welcomed. Thanks in advance! deeleyer 0 #2 February 9, 2011 I have a FT50 since AFF and had no issues with it. They are popular here in Spain, at least in my DZ, almost every student uses one. Aerostore and Chutingstar are dealers of the brand in EEUU, you should talk to them. Blues ones.
virgin-burner 1 #3 February 9, 2011 had one for like my first 200 jumps; still have it, pretty convenient if your neptune runs out of power. never had any problems with it! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. JanuszPS 0 #4 February 9, 2011 On my first FT50 I had some similar problem. I just noticed that in my group of jumpers there was always one person pulling very low every time. I have noticed that was me What happened was that after one day when I hit the door by the alti after couple of weeks one of the screws inside the alti fell out and went under the vacuum box creating additional pressure on the box. This resulted in about 200m added altitude during freefall. As a result I was pulling about 200 m lower that others accidentally. After I realized there is a problem, I just opened the box, found the problem/loose screw, screw it to the place and the alti worked perfect till friend of mine lost it during one jump. Now I have another FT60. Look inside and check if there is something wrong. If it's broken it's broken so you don't risk much. I should have some pictures somewhere. j. Back to Poland... back home.
