Further . . . I don't know about you, but when I was growing up it was a sin to leave -any- food on your plate. So, however full the plate was, you ate it. After years of conditioning like that, I still find it incredibly difficult to leave even a tiny morsel of food on the plate.

VERY cool article. I read it all. "Supersize, my ass" could also be read "supersize-my-ass" [as in what happens...:P:P:P]

Ironic that today I went to Burgular King for lunch feeling "too hungry to eat just the little ramen soup I brought". As easy as it would have been to do the Combo I opted for a whopper jr and teeny weenie fries off the "value menu". It filled my up just fine, thanks, and I didn't fall asleep at my desk in the middle of the afternoon either. [we have a super 'greek style' burger joint within walking distance but a Fat Boy and fries puts me to sleep and I don't feel hungry for 24 hous!]

We had a rule at our house, when I was growing up:

If our parents dished our plate up we weren't required to eat it all. They might have misjudged our appetite.

However, if we dished our -own- plate, then we HAD to clean our plate or else... (or else we had to eat it at the very next meal until done).

Now....if I can't finish what's on my plate, Shimmie delights in a treat! :)
I have -no- problem leaving food...if I'm full, I'm finished. (it just goes in the 'fridge or Shimmie after that). :P
