quade 4 #2 January 2, 2004 Kick ass. It'll be interesting to see if they captured any particles -- if it makes it back home.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #7 January 3, 2004 I'm especially impressed with the features. Some don't look like normal Moon craters at all but rather some kind of wierd pitting. Compare the surfaces to say Eros. While Eros has a LOT of impact craters, they all more or less seem to be pretty much what I'd expect to see in the way of impacts cratering. Wild-2, on the other hand . . . wow. Some regular impacts for sure, but how deep do you suppose that one crater is in the lower right part of the photo? BTW, when they make it possible, I'm going to set up shop in the crater at Mimas. Can you imagine the view of Saturn-rise?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Guest #8 January 3, 2004 Mimas? Oh yeah, da big eyeball... That shot of Wild-2 is amazing. Can't wait for the other images that are supposed to be coming tomorrow. The comet reminds me of a cartoon rendition of Earth's moon - like green cheese and all that. I'll bet planetary geologists are having heated arguments... mh"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
