What do you think should be put in place of the BCS? I really think if their going to keep the BCS in place they need to add 3 more games. Since the BCS is only 4 bowl games and the top 8 teams are invited.. They need to pit the winners of each of the 4 bowls against each other. 4 vs 1 & 2 vs 3 .. then the 2 winners of those games play for the NCAA Championship game.. Easy fix "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." AggieDave 6 #3 January 6, 2004 Unless they added games over the holidays, that could extend the season into February. Man, that would rock. FallRate 0 #4 January 6, 2004 The extra games could be played before the current schedule of games...earlier in December. Ultimately playoffs of some kind are the only thing that will satisfy everyone. And it's extra money all around. FallRate

lawrocket 3 #6 January 6, 2004 One playoff game for national championship. That is all. One. Any team that did not win its conference championship is out of contention. Any team that lost its bowl is out of contention. From that, take the two best teams remaining and let them play a game. Is that too tough????? My wife is hotter than your wife. I mean, any NFL team that doesn't win their conference can't play in the Super Bowl, right? PLFKING 4 #9 January 6, 2004 Play til Thanksgiving, then seed the top 16 teams, then have a playoff. I think we'll actually get to that eventually, after the bowl contracts expire. Can't come soon enough for me. Don"When in doubt I whip it out, I got me a rock-and-roll band. It's a free-for-all."
lawrocket 3 #10 January 6, 2004 This year, Oklahoma did not win its conference. Remmeber a couple of years ago when Nebraska played for it and didn't win its conference? That sort of stupid stuff must stop to lend credibility to any system. My wife is hotter than your wife.

TheAnvil 0 #12 January 6, 2004 I agree with you Slappie - that's the most feasible idea I've heard on the matter. This BCS system has been screwed for years - remember 1990 when GA TECH and Colorado split the National Championship? GT was #1 in the UPI and CO #1 in the AP (despite 5 downs given them against MO). Would have been great to see them play, just like USC-LSU this year. The BCS doesn't just screw the teams - it screws the fans as well.Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! MikeMcLean 0 #13 January 6, 2004 QuoteWhat do you think should be put in place of the BCS? Nike ran a full page ad in USA today sometime last week that was basically an empty page, witha small four team "playoff" grid (Winner of Michigan/USC plays winner of LSU/Oklahoma on 10-Jan) and the tag line "Just Do It" IMO that ad says it all.......It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention

Not quite, the NFL (as does most pro sports) has a wild-card system taht lets non-conference winning teams into the playoffs. The key, though, is that once in they must playoffIt wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention
