Kite Parachutes question

Recommended Posts

I watched Swoop 2 the other day and this guy had the cute kite that was shaped like a parachute with two strings.

Anyone got one? If so is it fairly easy to fly?

Where did you get it? Do they make custom colors?

Thanks gang:)

That was Mike Swanson... considering he's a Big Air Sportz test jumper... I'm thinking its a Brian designed kite in his hands.

I LOVE the kite that I recieved at a Xmas gift last year. It got well used this year at Rantoul and at the DZ. Best gift I recieved that year for sure.
Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery

I used to do kite buggying, my big kite is a quad-line skytiger from cobra kites its a hi-60 which is 60 sq feet, large wingspan and has picked me up in relatively low winds.

My smaller is a quadrifoil 4 line kite which used to be made by quadrifoil kites, but I don't think they exist anymore. it can easily pull you around on rollerblades swiftly.

I've had my buggy up to 55 mph with the skytiger.

i got a cheapy one from "go fly a kite" thats the company that makes it...
its a 2 line called a t-foil got it for like $50 at kitefarm.com

it was at my door 2 days after I placed the order and they had the best price I could find anywhere (some $20 cheaper than many other places)

its only about 8.5 sq feet, wont lift you off the ground, but last weekend I did get quite worn out flying it. it has quite the pull in the "power zone"...enough to go from sitting on the ground to standing jsut using the kite to pull me up...

if you are looking to get started in kite surfing then prob go with a better trainer...if you are jsut looking for something fairly cheap to play with... the t-foil is a fun toy. they also have 4 line versions and there are quite and abundance of manufacturers that make kites... if you look in the back of a parachutist you can get a free kite catelogue which has plenty to choos from for the novice "want something to do in too high winds" type person...
