quade 4 #1 December 31, 2003 Uh, calm down ladies . . . Willie Nelson. Link Believe it or not, I ran across this while doing a skydiving news search . . . "Lake Elsinore" pops up in the story. Anybody wanna take bets on whether or not he has some more trouble with the IRS in his future?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Muenkel 0 #5 January 1, 2004 I may be mistaken and correct me if I am wrong. But doesn't Willie Nelson have a felony on his record? If that's the case, he can't vote anyway. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

Chris Yeah--what a shame! That means he's not entitled to the same priviledges as John Poindexter/Ollie North (pardoned, that is). He's on his own--like the rest of us poor S.O.B.s. Most of us don't have the option to start life over again like "Dubbya" with scrubbed arrest records, new driver's licenses and ignored AWOLs. Dennis Kusinich is the only FOR-REAL anti-war candidate. Needless to say, the media whores are ignoring him completely. It'll come down to the usual status quo idiots: Dweedle Dumb or Dweedle Dumber. “Keep your elbow up!" PhillyKev 0 #7 January 5, 2004 QuoteI may be mistaken and correct me if I am wrong. But doesn't Willie Nelson have a felony on his record? If that's the case, he can't vote anyway. Chris That's on a state by state basis. For intance, in PA, you are only disenfranchised while incarcerated. Past record doesn't matter.
Deuce 1 #8 January 5, 2004 Yeah, Kev, that's true here in Cali, too. If not currently in prison or currently on parole folks can vote. That's true in most states. Willie has been in tax trouble through many political administrations. He's a bipartisan tax-dodger.

algboy 0 #10 January 7, 2004 I never liked or trusted Teddy K. But, it's funny how Dems and Repubs always throw the mud back and forth: "well, your guy did this" blahblahblah without realizing that, like two bald men fighting over a comb, the two major parties are just wings of the same bird of prey. Clinton sucked, Dubbya sucks, George I sucked, Reagan . . . the list goes on and on. They were nothing but shills and mouthpieces for even bigger--but more powerful--SOBs. That's the part that Mr. and Mrs. Average Shmoe don't dial in on. The game is fixed from the get-go, so RELAX--enjoy the ride. Kucinich call himself a DEM, but he's really more like a GREEN. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas calls himself a REPUB, but anyone who knows politics knows that he's a dyed-in-the-wool LIBERTARIAN. Third party candidates don't stand a snowflake's chance in hell the way the system exists today. Oh--and Kucinich has about the same chance. He's got WAY too many ideas that just, flat out, make sense. The "winner" in 11/2004 will be the guy who promises (with the most sincerity) to maintain the status quo. Nevertheless, I STILL wish I had the connections to get MY past erased . . . “Keep your elbow up!"

algboy 0 #22 January 8, 2004 "I hope you are joking about this. You must be. That or have absolutely no grasp of foreign policy - the area of government in which any sitting president can operate with the greatest autonomy." Au contraire, mon frere I consider it (politics/foreign policy) something of an obsession. But, I'm willing to hazard a guess that you perhaps harbor neo-con, evil is everywhere, Bush is a good leader, pre-emptive war is a good thing, we-are-not-an-empire, etc. views??? I highly doubt whether we see the same world. I worry about politicians/advisors who see ZB's "The Grand Chessboard" as their foreign policy blueprint. Scary stuff--talk about hubris! Kucinich is one of few voices for peace, people over profits, and getting along with other nations (he must be a commie!). He's a maverick--I can admire that, too. Can you imagine any other candiate proposing a "Department of Peace"? Not to worry--Dennis doesn't have a prayer . . . . Kumbaya, my Lord, Kumbayaaaaaaaaa!!! “Keep your elbow up!" He has some interesting ideas, but many of them (like an immediate retreat from Iraq, leaving the warlords in charge, and abandonment of NAFTA and WTO) seem more like talking points than real-world solutions.
