Deuce 1 #1 January 8, 2004 I was not always a coldhearted conservative I happened upon this 23+ year old photo and had to laugh. I was working on Carter's reelection campaign at the time and picked this character for a kind of "method" debate. I memorized a speech and everything. The man ended up putting me down. That sucked. So I became the man
Amazon 7 #2 January 9, 2004 Election campaigns are fun.. for those who have never volunteered I heartily recommend the experience. I worked on several and they were just way too much fun. One senatorial candidate made it and is still in the Senate another did not.. . Ron Wyden has done good things for Oregon and is balanced nicely by Gordon Smith I initially voted for Carter.. but considering he was running against President "Stumbler" Ford" it was a good choice. Carter was a horrible President to serve in the military under.. but it was a horrible time just after the debacle of the South East Asian War Games. I had to vote for Ronald Raygun and actually manned a phone bank for his campaign. No matter what your politics.. I think EVERYONE should devote some time as part of the process. There is FAR too much apathy in the American voting population. The current administration is touting immigration reform. All immigrants to this country must pass a test to gain their citizenship. Perhaps that would not be a bad idea for all the people who are born here as well.. so maybe.. just maybe they would participate in this experiment in democracy.
