beej 0 #1 January 10, 2004 I realize that big guys are 'relatively' rare in this sport, but any of you guys or gals have a good high poundage bench press? (or high strength to body weight ratio even). ---------------------------------------------------- If the shit fits - wear it (blues brothers)--

AggieDave 6 #5 January 10, 2004 I bench 275lbs for reps. Deadlift 405lbs for reps and Squat 405-450lbs for reps (varies on how I feel that day). Those numbers will most likely continue to go up as time goes on...atleast that's my goal.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." boudy 0 #7 January 10, 2004 Previous injuries have left chronic shoulder mobility & pain issues, so I've found the limited range of the decline bench for heavy weights the most comfortable (plus you can press more & cheat more) I weigh 185; decline bench: 350lb max; 315 lb up to 6 reps;295lb up to 10 reps (Flat bench 275lb, clean but no reps); Leg work & dead lift is mostly restricted to the machines (with decent weight using knee brace) because Ortho said I tore my left ACL 9 months ago. Stay consistent and you WILL see rewards at any age(actually makes aches & pains easier to deal with). I've had a substantial improvement over the last two years since I started again at 51. Paige 0 #9 January 10, 2004 I'm partial for Crispy Creams If we work out hard enough, maybe we could lift the jelly/pudding filled ones, but that might be pushing it For now, I'll stick to the glazedTunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

Jib 0 #11 January 10, 2004 When I was in college, I could bench 315+ and military 225+. (The plus was because it was a heavy set of 3 reps). steve1 5 #12 January 10, 2004 I've been doing bench press for about 40 years now. Being small boned, about 5'7", small joints, I don't have much hope of ever being a power lifter, but we can all improve. Many years ago I did a max of around 250 on bench. Dead lifted around 405 once. Nothing to brag about, but I still like to lift.....Steve1
sdgregory 0 #13 January 10, 2004 Yeah I weighed 185 when I got out of the Marines and could easily press 250 in reps but now after 13 years I weigh 210 and prolly couldn't press 115 in reps
Blahr 0 #14 January 11, 2004 I'm a bodybuilder. Not pro, I'm not cut enough to compete. Working towards it though. My current max bench is 345 lbs I have a goal of 400 lbs, but I'm at least a year from that if not more. I'm 5' 10 1/2" & 205 lbs
sdgregory 0 #15 January 11, 2004 well damn, I could only dream of doing that . . . but I am too lazy to work out. Besides I built my body now over 13 years. A lot of hard work doing nothing and I am not about to give up on it now
