sdgregory 0 #3 January 10, 2004 Use a lawyer. It costs a pretty penny but you will avoid any common pitfalls that are made by self-patenters.

JeffD 0 #5 January 11, 2004 I think its at least a 3 year wait at least because the Patent Office is so backed up.
chopchop 0 #6 January 11, 2004 QuoteUse a Lawyer?... Yup. Recommend a lawyer?.. any good local patent attorney should do. What were costs?... can't remember.. make sure the costs are worth your projected profits. File yourself?... don't waste your time on an incomplete filing. Tips?...Pointers?...Pitfalls?... Thanks, D I have a very solid patent on a product that I manufacture. It has given other companies fits. On the other hand, I have other products with no patents due to feeling I coul d manufacture and market them so competitively that competition would be a non-issue.. Make sure a patent is a real requirement and if it is, do it right. Hire a good firm. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking..
