tunaplanet 0 #1 January 11, 2004 I am a die-hard Buccaneer fan, but out of who was in the playoffs, I have to root for the Colts. Actually, I have to root for Peytin Manning. No one deserves that ring more than he does. I would love to see him win it all. Did anyone see the piece on Brett Favre with Steve Young interviewing him? I am not religeous, but it had to bring a tear to your eye and give you chills hearing him talk about his father's death. In case you don't follow, Brett Favre's father died the week before going into a game in the rgular season that they had to win to make the playoffs. He decided to play instead of take the week off to be with his family. He ended up having arguably one of the greatest performances by a quarterback anyone's seen. It seemed no matter what kind of pass he threw up it always ended up complete. He said he's not saying he feels his father was watching and had something "angel-like" to do with it, but he said the game had an eerie feeling to it. Then you have the final week of regular season. The odds of them making the playoffs was a longshot, because not only did they have to win their game, the Vikings had to lose to the Cardinals...and in case you don't follow football, the Cardinals are one of the worst teams. Long story short, the Cardinals came back in an amazing comeback, shocking the Vikings and knocking them out of the playoffs and allowing the Packers to back in. Again, another eerie circumstance Favre said. Then you had the playoff game last week. The Seahawks were driving in overtime and looking like they were going to drive inside field goal range and win...then out of nowhere the Packers intercept a pass and runs it back to win. Another strange circumstance to win. I don't believe in angels and such, but it definitly is cool. I think Favre is a tremendous qb, perhaps possibly the greatest ever (hard to say that about your former division rival). You have to root for people who are enduring great tragedy while trying to advance in the playoffs...especially at the most important position, a qb. I can't imagine how hard it must be to stay focused while going through what he is. So in conclusion, I would love to see either Favre or Manning win the ring. Both deserve it. sdgregory 0 #2 January 11, 2004 Yeah that GBP game was something wasn't it? It was eerie to watch knowing what he had to be going through. Manning was on fire today! I think it will easily be a GBP and Colts year. And I hope Manning takes it too even though I am not a COlts fan. I just think Manning is all class. I cannot believe that of the four teams I love NOT ONE is left. Hell not one was worth a damn this year. Redskins -5W-11L Tampa -7W-9L Oakland - 4W-12L Miami - 10W-6L What a sucky freakin year. And to make matters worse my wife's team the dreaded Dallas Cowhumpers at least made the playoffs. Not a good year to be me.
