TB99 0 #3 November 25, 2002 Yea, I hate those damn things .. I don't get them often, but if they come the only thing you can do is stay away from the running until they heal! There's nothing you really can do about it ... the best thing to do is run on grass instead of asphault. Also check your running shoes, those cause em too. If you keep running on shin splints, they can eventually turn into a stress fracture, which is NOT GOOD! Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked! skybytch 273 #4 November 25, 2002 QuoteAnyone know how to get these damn things to heal quicker? Nope. I get 'em bad. Started back in high school from playing volleyball. Now they hurt for days after a weekend of jumping if I don't stretch them good before jumping each day. Suffer through the pain and take anti-inflammatories. You can also try wrapping them with Ace bandages if you have to walk much; I used to do that so I could get through the volleyball games.
prepheckt 0 #5 November 25, 2002 First and foremost, stop running. If you must or can suck it up like a real man , get some good shoes...stay off sidewalks, streets...run on grass or soft dirt. Also run every other day. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes

Lolie 0 #15 November 25, 2002 I need $$$! But seriously: I am so broke, it's not even funny. I don't know how I'm gonna pay for my rent next month. Has anyone ever sold plasma? Lolie 0 #18 November 25, 2002 I can't rob a bank without a gun, and I can't buy a gun without money. (And if you expect me to rob a gun shop, you're talking to the wrong girl. Lolie 0 #19 November 25, 2002 Quoteshin splints are actually very, very, very small fractures If you want to get all technical, I learned in physiology last year that they're an inflammation of the periosteum (which is a membrane that covers the outside of the bone)... But I've heard a lot of different explanations of what causes them. Who knows which one is right. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. Viking 0 #20 November 25, 2002 well you could always use a toy gun...........I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
Lolie 0 #21 November 25, 2002 Good idea. Okay, here's the plan: I rob a toy store, steal a toy gun, run to the nearest bank, use the toy gun to rob the bank, run to the nearest airport, and hop aboard the next plane to CA. Once I'm in California, I'll use the rest of the money to take a taxi to your house, where I will then give you a massage. Sounds practical. PM me your address; I'll be right there. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. Lolie 0 #23 November 25, 2002 QuoteI just looked it up real quick in the nejm and it can be attributed to either. Miller-Keane Medical Dictionary gives a third one: "strain of the long flexor muscle of the toes, occurring in athletes and marked by pain along the tibia." SpeedRacer 1 #24 November 25, 2002 I always make a point of running on grass or paths of dirt or fine gravel, not on pavement. And I don't run everyday, I mix up my exercise a bit. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
TB99 0 #25 November 25, 2002 Quote Has anyone ever sold plasma? () Hehe, yea actually! I was born with the anti-bodies for Hepetitis B so they used to use my plasma to make vaccines ... I donated twice a week for $130 a week. Did it for like 4 months, lol, then stopped because my vein couldn't take it anymore. That extra money really helped! Trailer 11/12 was the best.
