The car pushes nearly 230BHP per tonne (it only weighs about 500 lbs) so is pretty damn quick :)

Get your leg back inside, you idiot, you'll scratch the paint!

You know how those camera guys are....always doing something "different"...;)

I think I'm like 21 in that picture. Legs out of the car, even while driving, wouldn't even have blipped the danger radar for me then.

Every time I skydive I am grateful I didn't start until I was in my late 30's. :S

No doubt. As I've told anybody who'd listen, the best cop car EVER MADE was the94 Chevy Caprice. I may be wrong about the exact year, but that was the year they gave us a Jane version of the Impala SS. Vette drivetrain.

Oh God, that car was sex on wheels. 140 easy, great brakes, very little body roll, easy to break loose in turns in a very controlled manner.

(grin)

I blew up a lot of cars, which probably factored into why they retired me when they could have waited.

Skydivings gain....;)

Yeah, drove one of those Impala SSes once...noice very noice. It had nice power and you could flat fucking push it into the turns.

For cop cars, nothing beats the very hotrodded Camaro's that the Texas State Troopers have...holy shit. They set off car alarms when they just cruise by at a very low RPM.

Well I'd agree, but a cop car can't be a Pony car, be it a Camaro or a Mustang.

Gotta be able to carry all the guns, gear and prisoners to qualify. Otherwise it's a pursuit car.

Yeah the ponies are faster, and handle better, but the Cop cars were so much fun.

Is this your car and is it street driven daily?

I wish.

That must be your wish car, huh? Mine's a daily driver. A Pro-Street rod that took a long time to finish, only to tear out the end of a drag strip, lol. But it's getting a makeover and it'll be back on the street soon. (I hope. I'm having gear-grinding, tire burning, engine screaming, speed withdrawals........God, I love the smell of 104+ octane in the mornings.)

sadly... you got it wrong. 104+ is only good if you get it comressed... via domes and/or small chambers, or forced induction. now alcohol (not the drinking variety) meeeee loves the smell of alcohol in the am.!
I miss it so. My baby WAS a 79 Malibu. 406 small block w/ 327 camel humps and flat tops. deck was milled to .05, I ported the heads super huge (actually had to put material back in). a 305, .525" lift cam. couple that to a turbo 350 w/ a 4000 stall converter and a chevelle 12 bolt, Moroso brute strength posi, and 4.56 gears... and you had 10.21 at 101 in 1000'. on pump gas(93 octane) and a 10.5" slick through the mufflers. AND I still had the A/C on the car ant working (but no belt, for some reason it went flying at about 6600 RPM) :o:D

damn i miss that car. but I pity the poor bastard that owns it now!:$

Dude, I hate to tell you this...but I got it RIGHT...I've owned this machine for a long time and KNOW what I've got. It isn't a WAS...it's an IS, and I've driven it almost as much as I have driven my truck which just happens to be almost every day so think what you want to - this is a real machine. I run it on 104+ racing fuel and it performs beautifully.
