bobsled92 0 #2 January 19, 2004 MY concern is due to having a 2yrs old & 2 teenage girls + wife that grew up here and know of no different life._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
AggieDave 6 #3 January 19, 2004 Well, you know, Florida IS a right to carry state. Being able to shoot a perp trying to take your wallet and rape your wife, before he can do either is a nice bonus.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." bobsled92 0 #4 January 19, 2004 I thought of that. My wife is quick on the trigger too. I perform combat shooting best with a >45 auto mag Grizzly. It was a custom style. Dad would shoot 398 of 400 at "Top 10 Presidents Men" Comp. with a Dan Wesson made specificly for him. Double action .38 & 10" target barrel(heavy as hell) _______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
AggieDave 6 #5 January 19, 2004 Well, a Kimber Custom II or a nice Ultra Carry...10rds per mag, its very easy to carry 2 extra concealed. Although, you're right, a double stack would be very nice.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
jmpnkramer 0 #6 January 19, 2004 QuoteZ-hills(wife's choice#1), I will have to get with my Mother about checking the exact crime rates as she works for the Sheriff's Department. I can tell you that from my own personal experience that the Z-Hills & Dade City area (8-Miles North) are very good. They are both good ole country towns. Not much here in the immediate cities. Although they are not that far from the major city. In other words far enough to have the country charm yet close enough to major civilization that it does not take hours to get there. Land and houses are probably rather cheap compared to your area. Not to mention that Z-Hills is a very close family. People here really try to help one another. If ya'll like scuba trips they organize them. In the summer there are cookouts at the DZ for the locals. Oh and as far as shooting there is a rod and gun glub really close by. I can also introduce you to the proper people for shooting in general. Get with me. Let us know when you are coming to visit and check out the area and we will try to help make the visit easier on ya'll. bobsled92 0 #7 January 19, 2004 That's what we've been looking for. It's safe here but, not close like "THAT" I miss folks like that from MY home town in the N.Y. UP-State Old Forge area. Your help would be great. Any info on Local Phone Co.s(Like Bell that actually own the poles and cable**not Z-tel. MCI & stuff). It took almost 2yrs and she finally said SHE wanted to go. I may have to walk away from a 15yr career with Verizon/Bell Atl. (VZ/GTE is Fla.) Only Mgnt can transfer w/o total losses. Any Power Co.s' info or County jobs? or website could be a change. freeflir29 0 #8 January 19, 2004 Dude...comin from PA might be a suprise. Most people don't think of Fla being a state full of rednecks/country folks. Actually, Most of Florida is exactly that. Stop at the Anchor Inn in Z Hills sometime.
bobsled92 0 #9 January 19, 2004 My wife is on the Redneck side. Rodeos, etc. I'm concerned about me putting my children in harms way. I have some family in Daytona that don't have a clue to my choice of area. WHen I used to visit a lot as a child, I remember a boy sent to get ice and the man next door sliced him up so same that all pieces fit down the toilet and one year when we left Kissimmee Hilton, that 1 person out of 3 attacks at the hotel had survived to state the event and times. Way back then, Cuba emptied his prisons and I would like to avoid the fruits of that event too. It's been a while but, I remember with a pessimist's eye. p.s. half of PA thinks it's below the Mason/Dixon Line_______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/

happythoughts 0 #13 January 19, 2004 QuoteLutz, Lakeland, Z-hills(wife's choice#1), Brandon. area. Brandon has better job availability, but it has huge traffic problems. The schools are good, there is some nice housing around it and established neighborhoods. Lutz is becoming "Tampa North". Two main roads put you there pretty quick and there is a development mix on housing, old/new. Z-hills and Lakeland are out in the country. There will be a total difference between living in the country in Pa and living in the country in Fl. There are country people and there are rednecks. You get a mix in of the best and the worst. bobsled92 0 #14 January 20, 2004 Thanks, as far as the Redneck. there's both counrty boys/farmers and theres the trash & CLAN types too. We have an Urban problem in the City here (red zone 7 mins on a certain road & *Amish country*-strange but, true.)and I only speak English but, all 3 times I had guns pulled, I understood what they meant._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
