John Kerry Wins the Iowa Caucus

Recommended Posts

CBS News just reported that John Kerry will win the Iowa Caucus.

2nd-John Edwards
3rd-Howard Dean (what the hell happened there?)
4th-Richard Gephardt

No official results are in, but the placings for the top four seem to be pretty much a lock.

on a semi-related topic: remember how in the last presidential election, the idiots running the news shows would give the "finalized results" of the election for a given state after less than 10% of the votes were cast? And they were wrong nearly half the time? These morons thought it was more important to be first with the news than to actually be correct.

This isn't just annoying, it is harmful to the democratic process, because some people who are waiting to vote might be discouraged from doing so because they think it's all over.

No, don't think he looks like an alein, just looks like a moron! Like someone lost and don't have a clue!

The source I read had about 90% of caucus locations reporting. As it is an odd system, they start at 6:30 and can be done about 6:35 if everybody agrees on the lead candidate and he's up by 15%.

I don't pretend to understand it completely, but comparisons to primaries at polling places are not really apples-to-apples.

Edit: my bad, it was 67% reporting

Kerry? Who the hell is John Kerry? He's running? I thought it was Dean and Clark only running. Who is this Kerry dude?

(sarcasm folks)

The way I've heard John Kerry described is "The haughty French-looking senator from Massachusetts who served in Vietnam, and by the way did he mention he served in Vietnam?" :)

At least he didn't go AWOL from his unit unlike the Commander and Chief. You know....I can't see how anyone could have voted for Bush in the first place knowing that.
