WrongWay 0 #1 January 20, 2004 They roll around in the mud all day and are cleaner than you and me..........well, you. ANYWAY, now that I have your attention, funny thing happened to me today. I was driving very early this morning, and got behind a semi on a two lane road. He's naturally going slower than I want to, so I creep over to one side of the road to check around to see if I can pass him. At this point, I see lights come on behind me. (Aw...shit.) So this cop comes up to my window and (actually I was surprised at how nice he was about all of this...) asks me for my license, regs, etc. and then asks me to step out of the vehicle. I'm just like "huh?". Turns out that he got in a call on the radio from the trucker cuz he thought I was gonna ram him or something. So here I am, being given a sobriety test because I went over to the edge of the road and stayed close to the truck at the same time. I passed of course, and then he did nothing more than give me a warning. Not that I'm complaining, one more ticket and my license says bye bye, but I kinda figured after all that BS, and everything we both went through he'd at least get me for left of center, following too closely, or something along those lines. But hey, nothing at all. Who'd have thought it? BTW, this cop was a super nice guy about the whole thing, kudos to him for saving my ass from walking for the next few years. I agree, it wasn't the fault of the trucker, he just thought that since I was coming up and swerving over to the side that I was drunk and was gonna hit him. Once the cop realized you were not intoxicated he cut you loose, they don't like doing paperwork, or at least most of them don't enjoy doing paperwork and then going to court on their day off.
