rjweagl 0 #1 January 19, 2004 Please join me if you can in trying to help out Lake Elsinore in the latest tragedy of a fire that wiped out their equipment this last weekend. I am going to send them a contribution that I hope will help them out. If you can I suggest that you do the same. I don't know if this is something that is or isn't allowed but I would hope as skydivers, a unique family of people, we can support each other whenever possible. I haven't jumped there yet but know what they must be feeling. Ron Weagley from Skydive New Mexico
Michele 1 #2 January 19, 2004 Hi, Ron! Quote I don't know if this is something that is or isn't allowed It's allowed, and very much needed. There's a paypal account, and all other info, in the sticky on the top of this page. Thanks for your encouragement and donation. I am sure it is very appreciated. rjweagl 0 #3 January 20, 2004 Used the paypal tonight and it went smoothly. It is sad what has happened but it is great to see the skydiving family come through when a member or members are in a bind. I will inform others ASAP.
Michele 1 #4 January 20, 2004 Thanks so much, Ron. The more people who are able to donate, the better for the instructors. Thousands and thousands of dollars in equipment was lost, and it isn't covered by insurance. Every donation helps... lewmonst 0 #5 January 20, 2004 Is there any way to get Paypal to wave the fee they normally deduct from transactions? peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
Nightingale 0 #6 January 20, 2004 nope... the fee isn't a whole lot, but it rises with the amount, so for donations under $100 or so, it isn't a big deal. for something over $100, they'd be better off sending a check or money order to the dropzone, I think. Michele 1 #7 January 20, 2004 No, Lew. But like Kris said, the amount is low enough. And for those who'd like to send a check or who doesn't like Paypal (like me....I know, crazy), I've included the address to mail things to in the sticky post. Again, props to Souleh for all his work with me getting this set up. The pm's were flying yesterday! Nick, you rock!!
