Tie die recipe

Howdy,

Hey all you arts and craftsy folks. Tell me how to tie die. Is there a book that you can get that has instruction for different designs? I just want to be able to dye with the colors I like, rather than just buy any ole thing.

Anyone have any instruction?????

When my hubby and I tie-dyed, we would order our stuff from Dharma Trading company. They have all the dye's and other chemicals to make the color's last longer and several white clothing items. We tried the Rit stuff you buy at any store and it seemed to fade quickly.

Also for patterns, many craft stores have books and a few free sample of what to make.

I agree Dharma is the source. Tie Dye works best on cotton and silk.

So fabrics like polycotton and cordura are pretty difficult.
