Odd & Interesting new community!

Recommended Posts

On my recent trip to Minnesota, my cousin showed me this new community called "Jackson Meadow". It is suppose to be a sustainable rural community. I must say that when you drive up to it, it is the strangest looking community....all these odd, perfect, white houses, just doesn't look real. All the houses must be white and with metal roofs. After going to the website, I guess the concept might make sense to some. Notice the house with all the doors across the front......that is all one room, spanning across, not separate rooms. Notice the long building with the continuous roof peaks.....that is a garage for one house! Anyway, here are some pictures of the houses...........

That is exactly what it looks like, it was so weird. These houses aren't cheap either, around the $400-500,000 level! It appears to be a very controlled community as to what is allowed. Their are several websites about the community.

Rod Serling syas:

"Submitted for your approval, "Jackson Meadow" - a community designed for sustainability. White houses, metal roofs, in the midst of an upper Midwest winter.

You may think the people there would say they're from Minnesota. In fact, they have becomes voting citizens of the Twilight Zone.'

We have a lot of homes like those here, in Lancaster PA. This is a Farm based County eventhough the city is plauged with serious urban imported problems.
HGTV shows quite a few house in this area (which shocked me).
The Timber frame barn house is great for having kids and parties. Main area is a HUGE "great room", hence the name.
>Thanks for sharing those pics!;)

:DThat is what my cousin called the community. No, we never got out of the car, we were just driving through!!! We saw only a couple of people outside.

I want to know why they think that many doors are necessary for one room? Is that the spice in their lives? HMMM... Which door will I enter through today....
