That was after 400+ men had been killed in service of their country. They were all friends and brothers in arms and yet they still cheered for the President after those deaths. You stats are stupid. Do you have any idea how many "advisors" were in SEA in the first four years, compared to the first year in Iraq? Obviously not. Go away troll. edited for personal attack. Regardless of their political interests, ALL of them would gladly give their lives again for their country. Gravitymaster 0 #21 January 25, 2004 OPERATION NAME: Operation Desert Fox MISSION: To strike military and security targets in Iraq that contribute to Iraq's ability to produce, store, maintain and deliver weapons of mass destruction. MISSION GOALS: To degrade Saddam Hussein's ability to make and to use weapons of mass destruction. To diminish Saddam Hussein's ability to wage war against his neighbors. To demonstrate to Saddam Hussein the consequences of violating international obligations. PRIMARY MISSION ASSETS: The operation employs U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps aircraft flying from the decks of the USS ENTERPRISE; U.S. Air Force and Royal Air Force aircraft operating from land bases in the region; and Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from U.S. Navy ships at sea and United States Air Force B-52s. Just in case anyone forgot the entire world thought Saddam Hussein had WMDs. Too bad Clinton was to much of a pussy to follow through. If he had, would the lefties be attacking Clinton the same way they have GWB. I doubt it.

quade 4 #23 January 25, 2004 While I respect all of the men serving in the U.S. military forces, I find it difficult to agree with the concept that "Regardless of their political interests, ALL of them would gladly give their lives again for their country", since some of the ones still there are trying as hard as they can to come home and the rotation schedules simply won't let them. Further, the U.S. military is having a pretty large retention rate problem right now. Even the $10,000 signing bonus isn't helping all that much. http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0401/04/sm.07.html And . . . Gravitymaster 0 #24 January 25, 2004 Saddam Abused His Last Chance, Clinton Says By Linda D. Kozaryn American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON -- A month ago, the United States called off its war planes to give Saddam Hussein one last chance to cooperate. When he failed to do so, the United States took action. President Clinton ordered air strikes Dec. 16 against Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors. Warships and combat aircraft began bombarding the defiant Gulf state at 5 p.m. EST - - 1 a.m. in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital. "The international community gave Saddam one last chance to resume cooperation with the weapons inspectors," Clinton said. "Saddam has failed to seize the chance. So we had to act and act now." Less than an hour after American and British forces launched Operation Desert Fox, the president addressed the nation to explain his decision. He said the attack was designed to protect the national interests of the United States and the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world. "Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons," Clinton said. The Iraqi dictator has used these weapons against his neighbors and his own people, he said, and "left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again."
