Zeemax 0 #1 December 31, 2003 Probably, but if not.. Anyone else heard of this? www.extremebodyflight.co.uk Looks like its going to be pretty good. I dont know, no tunnels in the UK, then all of a sudden theres 2! From what i hear about the prices, its not going to be too bad either, just wish it was a bit closer Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
mr2mk1g 10 #2 December 31, 2003 talk has but i've not seen the link before. Thats an awsome diagram comparing its size to other tunnels... at at over 150mph! Nice to think that the UK will be leading the world in wind tunnles from aug... at least for a while. And £6 a minute - sweetos! Just wondering which one'll be ready first!
 Zeemax 0 #5 December 31, 2003 Correct me peeps if i'm wrong, but i think this one will be open sooner, most of its already in place whereas the milton one has yet to be built from scratch?Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
 mr2mk1g 10 #6 December 31, 2003 The last I heard on the Milton Keynes one was that they were still a couple of mil short of their investment target. Unless they got it they will not be going ahead. I also suspect they won't be able to match the price this one offers either as they have to build from scratch. The one in Bedford only has to renovate MOD buildings. Given the announcement that Bedford one is going ahead I wonder if they Milton one will even get off the ground... if they do I worry if there will be enough buisness to keep them both working - Milton and Bedford are too close for comfort and I think 1 is all the UK market can handle. It would be a shame to see two open and then drive each other under. Anyone know if this is realistic? I would think the project would need a minimum of a year for detail design and construction. This depends on how much upfront work has been done, whether sub-contract tendering has taken place so that when funds are in place contracts can be immediately placed (for the steel frame and cladding for instance) If the August 2004 is realistic the Bedford tunnel will open first.
