caress 0 #26 January 25, 2004 Yummy food is yummy food, and I like to cook chinese food at home. I like sweet and sour pork from scratch, beef and broccoli, egg flower soup, egg rolls, pork lo mein, and hot tea- I know it started off with a burger from speedracer, but I like my veggies. I can also kick some butt with an asparagus/chicken dish. -Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

freeflir29 0 #28 January 25, 2004 Quotebut I like my veggies. I had veggies tonight.....sort of. I was having a hankering for saute'ed (SP?) mushrooms so I picked up some Portobellos at the store. All that was needed was some garlic salt, butter, and a splash of olive oil in the frying pan. I also made REAL brown gravy to go over my "Ground Steak." It was awesome. I had never used egg with ground beef before. Thanks for the tips...!
caress 0 #29 January 25, 2004 No I think homemade is better, and the more I do it the more better it tastes. I love to cook other stuff too. Homemade crembrule'. Heck I even love bisquits and gravy from scratch, and it really isn't that difficult. Actually all I did was go to the library, checked out a book and came home and wrote down all the recipes I wanted. Following directions is not hard. Sometimes the stuff I make is time consuming, but love for my friends makes it all worth it.-Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right. SpeedRacer 1 #31 January 25, 2004 hey I've got some vegetarian recipes of my own....dal, curried garbanzo beans, vegy burritos. They're all awesome, and I have every respect for vegetarian food. But I will never be a total vegetarian. There is no substitute for meat. Sometimes a big hunk of beef just makes you feel STRONG!!Also, beef contains B vitamins, iron already attached to a heme group (why do you think beef is called "red meat"), and Coenzyme Q. All of which help you maximize the use of oxygen at high altitudes. also beef and pork make you brave, but that isn't very scientific, is it. canopycandy 0 #34 January 25, 2004 QuoteBut I will never be a total vegetarian. There is no substitute for meat. Ah, but have you ever tried Quorn? It's an amazing substitute for meat ... and so much more nutritious! http://www.quorn.com I'm mostly vegetarian -- no meat, but I eat fish about once a week. However, years ago when I was a carnivore, I made burgers like this: Instead of making a regular hamburger patty, divide the meat into two thin patties. (Flavor the meat beforehand to your liking.) In the center of one thin patty, make a little pile of blue cheese and chopped onions. Place the other patty on top and smoosh all the edges together. Grill or throw on the Foreman. For some reason, I like having the cheese INSIDE the burger better.
