RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 January 16, 2004 I'm in major doo doo right now with my Regional Director because I'm behind on some admin stuff. I have til midnight tonight to get it done or 1/2 of my bonus check in February goes bye bye! He said he understood my personal distractions, but once I mentioned my skydiving in Eloy and then again over the weekend at my home DZ, that's when he felt my priorities were off. He's an awesome boss, he's been so understanding and fair. So..gotta get busy..just thought I'd give a heads up to keep your love/addiction for skydiving to yourself, especially if you find yourself slacking a little. YIKES! He was soo kuhl about me talking about it early on and loved to see my videos at Regional Meetings, and wanted to do a skydiving "teambuilding" exercise, but now he's thinking I'm distracted or preoccupied..which he's right. _________________________________________

Jarcie 0 #4 January 16, 2004 Hi, RkyMtn, I don't think we've officially met... I'm sorry to hear that. I've been distracted since I started skydiving, too, but my boss is really interested. When he sees me on Monday, he usually starts the conversation with, "Did you jump out of any planes this weekend?" Then again, my boss is pretty cool about keeping life balanced, as long as people make the right things happen at work. It's one of the advantages of the software industry, I think... I've kind of given up talking about it so much, though, since we ended up in quite a long discussion over pizza one evening last week. Apparently, skydiving is not a sport. I managed to convince a few of my co-workers otherwise, but you know how it goes. I've seen other threads about this... Good luck! Work can still be interesting, if we can burn skydiving off the brain long enough. Hmmm... So what am I doing posting on DZ.com instead of finishing my project here? Jib 0 #6 January 16, 2004 I think my boss is in denial even though he's seen my license plate holder and a demo canopy laid out in the middle of the office. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. JoeyRamone 0 #8 January 16, 2004 I had a deal with my boss last year. I was just getting into some sales beside my fulltime recruiting job. Well he said if I sold 1 million in new business he would jump. Well 4 million later he still wont jump. He gave me a hell of a bonus for letting him off the hook too. He does not like me jumping at all. I have a family with 4 kids under 10, does not want to have his right hand man burn in either. He just does not understand. I did take the summer off this year from jumping. We will see. Dont mess up your job but dont let anyone take away your passion to jump either.

If it weren't for my job, I couldn't afford to skydive. and furthermore, I really love what I do. However, I don't plan to let anyone make me feel guilty about skydiving either as I love it too.
