Pet Peeves....

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah, and another one: people parking in handicapped spaces that don't have a tag AND people with handicapped tags that have no business having them. My 7 y/o daughter has cerebral palsy and uses a walker, and practically everywhere we go, there's either some fucking jackass sitting in his car in the handicapped space just iding, or someone who can walk normally parking there because they have the tag from a dead aunt or something. One time we went to Krispy Kreme on a Sunday morning, and a guy pulled into the handicapped space right in front of us, and leaped out of his car to get in line. We parked in a regular space and walked in and my wife located the guy, asked him if that was his truck parked in that spot, and introduced our daughter to him. The look on his face was priceless.

-riding the escalator (hey, it's still shaped like stairs - at least move to the side if you won't climb)

Ha! Finally....someone shares my feeling over this issue. I hate having to stand on an escalator because the person in front of me is right in the middle. Standing on stairs and just waiting to go up a floor is silly......walk up, you'll get there faster!

Also, people who can't 'clean up' an email before forwarding something, if it has too many Fw. on it, I'm not even opening it:S.

It drives me crazy when people make plans with you & can't be there on time! I also get annoyed with people when they're driving & they cut you off just to turn right in front of you.....making you slam on your brakes just for them! Like the world revolves around them & them alone........LOL!

I agree! People who are not disabled have no business using handicapped parking spaces.

That said, there are quite a few folks out there that have "invisible disabilities" You'd never know it to look at my aunt, but she's got cardiomyopathy and is on the transplant list and waiting for a new heart. She looks completely normal, but can't walk more than a few feet without a lot of difficulty, getting seriously out of breath and all that. She has a handicapped pass and uses it. I can't count the number of people who come up to her and say rude things because they think she's not disabled! That's one of my pet peeves! They walk up to her, start yelling, and then leave without even letting her explain!

My other pet peeve is smokers who throw their cigarette butts on the ground, especially when they're standing right next to an ashtray! Just because you smoke doesn't give you the right to litter too! I don't care if people smoke as long as I don't have to breathe it, and they're courteous about it and all that. No problem! Just don't throw the cigarette butt on the ground. Put it in the ashtray.

This is so annoying. There's an ashtray RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM, and yet so many choose to toss it in the road. Can't figure that one out.

I think disrespect, and stupidity drive us all nuts at some point. Ignorance, is only acceptable because if someone doesn't know any better, it is bound to happen. People driving slow doesn't bother me, I think they should take at what is safe for them in the correct lane of course. What really gets my ass hairs up is when people are mad or frustrated take it out on their kids, or pets or other people in public or otherwise-Caress
I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being
right.

1) Hacking up a lung in the movie theatre (i.e. excessive coughing); Followed very closely by people who clap during/after the movie.

2) No turn signal = my car up you as*

3) Anything having to do w/ cigarettes

4) Litterbugs

5) Picking your nose (Where the hell was I when this became socially acceptable?!!!)

AND THE ULTIMATE ONE:
Blowing your nose at the dinner table...YUMMY :P!

Gridlockers! Those people who find that they must block an intersection so that they may get a car or two ahead. One time was I feeling particularly pissed (about a year ago in Santa Monica) this lady pulls out to beat a red light, thereby blocking the cars hoping to travel the other way. It's as if they cannot wait the additional minute for their light.

I got out of my car, walked up to her, and said, "Oh! It's you! For important people like you, I guess all ten of those cars should wait." And I walked away.

What the hell is wrong with people? Nothing pisses me off like gridlockers.

Another one is lights that are poorly timed. Most think that road rage is caused by rude drivers. I think rude drivers push people over the edge. But bad traffic plans start it.

Has anyone here noticed that traffic flows least smoothly around shopping areas? Cities and counties DESIGN that. They WANT people to stop around malls and shopping centers. That way they notice the stores so they can stop and shop, thereby bringing in tax revenues.

Gridlock. I hate it.

I hate when people are eating and drag their teeth along the fork or spoon....all you hear is that *cling scratch* of their teeth and it gives me the chills and I want to get up and leave.

When its 40 out and I am still wearing a T-shirt and people consitantly tell me...."its cold out there, put on a coat." Hey I am 23 I know when to wear a coat damn you.

People who just because I am somewhat young over look me in the work place. At my last job I took pride in keepingupwith current stuff and to try and know everything possible so I could truly help the customer. Then they come in look at me, ask me what the problem is....I tell them, they say no and run to the boss, and he tells them the same thing. Those people are the ones who I want to run up to and Go.,..."Haha you stupid SOB, you think I stand behind this counter because I want too you fool? I might actually know what I am talking about, ever thing of that you piece of crapola!" Then kick them out...lol

Skydivers who think 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) is cold.

Yeah, it's not until you hit 45 that it's really unbearable. :P

Seriously, I do not enjoy it when people chew with their mouths open. And of course, I am the grammar police, so simple grammatical errors drive me up the wall. And if someone dares to condescend to me, I just have to kick some ass! :P:D

Got that t-shirt. When you are an organizer, you do a call, get everyone organized, and then somebody shows up and wants to change everything.

It completely bothers me for like 2 seconds when someone's voicemail message says:
"I'm unavailable to answer your call at this time..."

You're either unable or not available... basically incorrect english.

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.

It's already no good even with good/well/swell? English, isn't that why the machine picked up in the first place? BEEEP

waiters or waitresses who can't speak English, so you have to play charades and point at the menu repeatedly, and they STILL fuck up your order.>:(

last time I checked, you were supposed to be able to demonstrate some understanding of English to become a US citizen. But it should at least be a pre-requisite for the job.

...or was that a "non-PC" thing to say??:o
