whatever 0 #27 January 28, 2004 the trains? screw the trains... they have to be practically the worst way ever to get around your part of the UK and especially London get a motorbike... I did and it was cheaper, faster and about ten million times more enjoyable than the trains. for comparison, from where I lived to your home DZ (which used to be mine too): Billericay/Brentwood to Headcorn by train: 2:45 to 3:30 and it'd cost me at leat 11 squids either way... same journey by Kawasaki: 45 to 60 minutes and it'd cost me under 3 pounds for the petrol... and it was a very similar situation when I went to visit my brother in SW15 like I said, screw the trains, get a bike, the weather in England allows you to motorbike all year round... cheers sam soon to be gone
Zeemax 0 #28 January 28, 2004 yeah, drive a motorbike round central london... and die... in fact, id kill myself on a motorbike either way plus then i'd need somewhere to park it when i got to work. Not easy, or cheap... Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
batbex 0 #29 January 28, 2004 Yay! I love snow - and if it looks like that in Aberdeen and looks like it does in Edinburgh right now(blizzard) guess who's going skiing this w/e bring on more snow!!!
kallend 2,146 #30 January 28, 2004 Quotewaking up and it had fricking snowed outside! This is very uncommon for kent (UK) we normally just get cold miserable rain, but no, there it was. A good inch of snow everywhere! Of course this then meant none of the trains worked, ran on time or even went anywhere. I hate publice transport in this country Say it ain't so. There are palm trees growing in Kent! But now I think about it, there are also giant sequoias growing in Kent.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. freeflir29 0 #31 January 28, 2004 I was lucky....I got out before any of the snow hit. I guess they were cancelling flights left and right at Gatwick and Heathrow. Then there was really bad weather across the Northeast US as well. Somehow I got home without any delays. It was a miracle! Wow.....I'm starting to like London. After all the times I have watched girls swoon because of some guys British, South African, Australian, Whatever, accent I finally get to turn it around. Chicks there dig my "American" accent. caz 0 #33 January 29, 2004 Quotein London all you get is freaking cold weather ... without the promise of going home and having a snow ball fight. OK I TAKE IT BACK! Loads of snow in London yesterday. what fun! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

caz 0 #35 January 29, 2004 true, but I had great fun doing 'bambi-on-ice' impressions trying to walk along in heels - stupid me didn't take any trainers with me to work. how often do we get snow though, you have to enjoy it while it lasts. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
vt1977 0 #36 January 29, 2004 Snow in the south east of England really is uniquely unpleasant imho. Looks pretty for about a nanosecond, then melts, re-freezes and turns the pavements and roads into death traps and causes public transport not to run! Bah humbug! Roll on summer! caz 0 #38 January 29, 2004 gah you're all a bunch of scrooges!! - come on, it lasts what 2 or 3 days if that?! Don't you get even the teensiest bit of child come out in you when you walk past a parked car that has snow on the roof and feel the urge to chuck it at someone? i just wish it had snowed a little bit more so I could take the day off work and go outside and play! and its not as if it takes much to upset the public transport system. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
vt1977 0 #39 January 29, 2004 Quotei just wish it had snowed a little bit more so I could take the day off work and go outside and play! But that’s just the point – it never seems to snow enough to be fun! Our once a year snow is always just enough to be a complete pain in the arse!
