Zeemax 0 #1 January 28, 2004 waking up and it had fricking snowed outside! This is very uncommon for kent (UK) we normally just get cold miserable rain, but no, there it was. A good inch of snow everywhere! Of course this then meant none of the trains worked, ran on time or even went anywhere. caz 0 #2 January 28, 2004 I miss living out in the country, in London all you get is freaking cold weather and the crapness of public transport delayed in the snow, without the promise of going home and having a snow ball fight. [kevin] its sooo unfair [/kevin] ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
vt1977 0 #3 January 28, 2004 No snow here in Surrey (but then it snows more in Kent than it does here!) but it was f*cking cold outside this morning! Vicki

mailin 0 #11 January 28, 2004 We're in the middle of a snow storm that will dump more than a foot of snow - and it hasn't gone above 20 degrees Franeheit (approx -12 celcius) in almost 3 weeks... Zeemax 0 #13 January 28, 2004 but i bet things still work where you are. In this country, the slightest change in weather and everything grinds to a hault. Last year it snowed only a little bit and we had people stuck in their cars for over 24 hours on some of the main motorways. Pathetic. vt1977 0 #14 January 28, 2004 Yeah, but that was the “wrong type” of snow, wasn’t it? And this summer, wasn’t it the wrong type of heat… What’s your all-time favourite excuse for the trains being f*cked up? Vicki
Amanda965 0 #15 January 28, 2004 Tell Alana and Steph that you;re trying to make it feel like home for them. We have about 5 inches or so in the ground in Ohio right now. We've been getting a little bit each day for the past 5 days or so. Too bad you cant do much of anything fun with 1 inch. It's pretty to look at I guess!Blue skies and SAFE landings! ~Amanda~
skymama 37 #16 January 28, 2004 My best friend sent me pictures of her kids playing in the snow this morning. They're from Ohio, but they're living in Cambridge for now. ScottishJohn 25 #17 January 28, 2004 When you say in this country I can only assume that you mean the south of England. The rest of the uk has enough resouses to deal with a couple of inches of snow to ensure that all major roads and most minor roads are kept open for public transport. I also can't understand why you were so surprised when you opened your curtians this morning this cold spell and the snow have been well forecasted in advance since last week. Things should start to warm up again Fri - Sat with snow turning to rain. this may cause other problems with local floodind due to snow melt where there is a significant volume of snow.---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you think my attitude stinks you should smell my fingers
caz 0 #18 January 28, 2004 which reminds me of the flood warnings they were sending out a little while ago when we had all that rain. apparently, it was the wrong type of rain and therefore wouldn't sink into the ground just on top of it. and we're still looking forward to droughts this summer because of the above reason too. I mean wtf!! where do they come up with this stuff ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
nacmacfeegle 0 #19 January 28, 2004 "I mean wtf!! where do they come up with this stuff" It comes out of their ass, ah, probably the wrong ass..... Anyways Aberdeen, right now...see attached. Its not that bad just a couple of inches, the usual roads are blocked, but it was piss easy with Audi's quattro 4 wheel drive (S3). ScottishJohn 25 #20 January 28, 2004 nice picture of Aberdeen and home early to build a snowman with mini nacmac. I think when the say it's the wrong type of rain is just another way of saying we mis spent your council tax money and didn't bother to implement flood defences or upgrade drains.---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you think my attitude stinks you should smell my fingers
