souleh 0 #1 January 30, 2004 FLAT-PACK FURNATURE! Argh dear GOD, I've just spent the best part of 3 hours hammering, duck-taping, and generally attacking a metal bed frame. All the wooden slats were different sizes, un-smoothed, bent washers, warped metal.. no refunds! I think it's about time we came down hard on these malasian 'designers' and flat-pack THEM! Am I alone in flatpacked anguish or do you feel my pain?! 'buttplugs? where?' - geno

Michele 1 #4 January 30, 2004 I bought some of my flat pack stuff from Ikea...and they're Swedish. Maybe they're Malaysian Swedes.... Is this some wide spread terrorist plot, designed to leave us without furniture??? QUick - grab the plastic sheeting and duct tape!! Oh, the horror!!! I feel your pain. Imagine a very mechanically uninclined woman struggling for a similar amount of time, but on a 24"x16"x18" cabinet for the bath........ Oh, er, I see your point.. And perhaps you mean British Cuisine 'buttplugs? where?' - geno
freeflir29 0 #6 January 30, 2004 QuoteAnd perhaps you mean British Cuisine Yes....definately. It even shows in the airline food. On the way to London the food is awesome. There's nothing on the menu I don't like. (Cooked by American caterers) On the way back.....I can hardly stomach the chicken and lets not even start on the disgusting appetizers. souleh 0 #7 January 30, 2004 Hmm, I dont think it's fair to use airline food as an apt gauge of the quality of British food. It's traditionally crap, and anyone will admit that. You evidently haven't been to a nice restaurant, or cooked yourself a meal with beautiful freshly-caught local fish.. or a multitude of other things. Just because bland curries that are too hot to taste are strangely popular over here, doesn't mean that's the best it gets. Nor the food on some budget airline. /rant 'buttplugs? where?' - geno
freeflir29 0 #8 January 30, 2004 Quoteor cooked yourself a meal with beautiful freshly-caught local fish.. I did have some fish at a nice little sit down cafe. It was VERY good. Better be for 6.50 BP! The burgers at Weatherspoons are pretty good and not too terribly expensive. That's all I've had as far as "local" cuisine goes so far. What can I say....Weatherspoons has beer at American prices....it's really hard to go anywhere else. London Pride is tasty!!! QuoteNor the food on some budget airline. Not a "budget" airline at all. In fact it's THE classiest American carrier out there. I have flown almost every American carrier there is and this one always has the best food and nicest accomodations. I've heard stories of Singapore air's firt class though. I want MY OWN flight attendant!

Ciels- Michele I've had no problems at all with stuff from IKEA and Dania (Danish). Made a sideboard last weekend, bookcase tonight. Everything fits. Perhaps you need a bigger hammer....
