No way I am letting my mom know about this site.

I have been getting static from her and my family since 1975 when I started jumping.... I quit for about 22 years and started again last march and in a fit of stupidity I let it slip I was jumping again when I was talking to my aunt... within 15 minutes... mom was on the phone...... Are you doing THAT skyding THING again?????

Yes Mom and loving every minute of it.. thanks:P

Well thanks MOM! You had to go there.

In that case I apologize to Phreezone. I thought he was referring to "another Mary", in the context of my mother having gone to be with the Lord. I am sorry I misunderstood.(And I'm not even Catholic)

My Mom came to the dropzone only once. My brother and I jumped, and I took a polaroid picture of him, and by the time I was on the ground, the photo was developed, and we gave it to Mom. She then signed our log books.

I certainly would not want to have my Mom read the postings herein....that likely would have killed her.

Anyhow, my apologies to Phreezone and anyone else who may have been offended.

Bill Cole D-41;)

My parents love to come to the DZ and watch us jump. We've had a few picnics out there that all of our jumping friends were invited to share in. Some of my best landing video has been taken by my parents..

They can be pretty cool for wuffos;)

What do you all think about Moms, visiting dropzone.com? Should they be allowed to read and post?

Its good that you are involved in your childrens life and are making sure that they are not spending all of their time logged on to internet talking to perverts trying to lure them out to Florida...

Unless they are 33 years old looking for preverts who want to lure them out to Florida.:D.

Hey! Don't put any ideas in her head. :S
I think it is cool that she is interested in learning about skydiving (though she still won't make a tandem)
I don't have any problems with my mom lurking here... I just wish she had told me when she started so I could clean up my language and post content. If she sees some posts, she's likely to wash my mouth out with soap. :|
Love you mom!

>Hey! Don't put any ideas in her head.

Could be worse, we could tell her jumping is danerous and unsafe. ;) I think its great your mom is asking questions and getting involved. Take her out to the DZ and have her meet everyone.:)

eh, I tease her enough anyway myself. No worries there. My parents have both been out to the dz quite a few times... The first time my mom went I biffed on the runway (it was my first time on a transition rig). She decided that I only biffed because I was nervous because she was there, so she said she was going to come out every weekend until I got it right...I got it right the very next weekend...

have her meet everyone

she did. I think that scares her more than the skydiving.:D

I sure wish my Mom could visit the dropzone again. She died in 1971.

Gosh, it sure would be nice to see her again.

I can relate to that. Mine died in 1983, Dad in 1999.
