Tandem master's pay per student :)~

Recommended Posts

My payload is simply based on my weight, as it may fluctuate 10 pounds over the year...

soo.... 500lbs...(gross weight with vector or strong a few more with another rig) less weight of rig...~50 lbs, less my average weight ~165 lbs leaves a typical max payload of 285 pounds up front...

I prefer less (and prefer cute young girls who think I'm Superman, but I'm also very happily married, so the other guys usually get them.)

Chris

(and I usually get paid $25 for the jump.)

No fair... Chris made a smart ass reply! I wanna make one of those too!

I used to think it was fun to take all the hot girls then I realized... it IS fun to take the hot girls for tandems!

I wear my Superbird shirt since all the girls want me instead of Chris then ;)

Packers make the most, in the time it takes to train a student thats one pack job if not 2. Climb up to altitude is at least 1 or 2 more. The landing, debriefing, logbook and other things is another pack job. Where as I earned $25 for one jump, the packer could make $60

...actually at my dz I pay...

5/head... to train (do video, waivers, and bout an hour training after that... we do a level one sorta skydive... exit, COA, prcp, geek etc... 5.5 waveoff, student pulls).

25 to person who hauls 'em.

25 to rent outside gear (or 25 for amortization of our own gear).

10 for packing

Total paid...

$65.00 to the guy who dose it all...

40 for 2 slots on the airplane...

$105 gross cost for my DZ... (gross... now subtract lights, rent, advertising, etc...DAMN, the phone just got cut off again!)

How do people do $99 tandems?

They don't pay the $5 to train, they only charge $12-15 for the slots... thats a savings of $15 right there.

I'm lucky... Manifest does all the waivers, they just call me up to get a student. I have usually 25 minutes from then till plane call to train them. We do a fun/ ride along jump for the first one... minimal training.
