yardhippie 0 #4 February 4, 2004 Depents on a few factors: stress level, current health, fatique, and tolerance. I can have a couple of drinks and take a 10mg Hydrocodone and still act like nuthin is up (but I feel better). Now take the Percoset... and I will be having a nappy. Carful w/ that mixing crap. freeflir29 0 #7 February 4, 2004 I'm taking a new stance on getting fucked up. My friend, yeah OK he's a RAGING alcoholic, was LIFE FLIGHTED from his house the other day. What did he do.....he got drunk and fell down the stairs. He now owes his life to another guy we work with. That guy revived him on the kitchen floor while his wife dialed 911. I guess his heart and breathing had completely stopped. I would be REALLY pissed off if I died from falling down stairs.
yardhippie 0 #8 February 4, 2004 Yea... me too. But I wouldnt want to die by bounce either. Wouldnt wann put my friend though that. Point: Stay away from stairs when motor skill lack necessary coordination. As I get older... Rdutch 0 #19 February 4, 2004 QuoteIve had a rough day and my head is pounding. Good idea or not? Darvocet is a very weak painkiller, a very mild opiate, and the worse thing is, if you take a lot of em to make up for it, they are very bad on your stomace. If you are in any kind of serious pain I would reccomend talking to your doctor and telling him that the darvocet isnt working. I wouldnt reccomend mixing it with alcohol, even though many people do it with no problem, but the thing that you dont notice is that your liver has a hard time with the darvocet and the alcohol, so you risk causing future damage to your internal organs. When I broke my leg my doctor tried to give me darvocet, I prompltly refused and let him know that i needed a much stronger pain releiver, he then gave me Vicoden, and then upgraded it to demerol. And from there we worked our way down. Also remember that all of these are potentially addicting, so be carefull. Just remember if you need alcohol to make your meds work then you need stronger meds, mixing is just asking for problems, unless your doing it recreationally, then you might need to seek help. Good luck. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

3ringheathen 0 #24 February 5, 2004 Quote I wouldn't do it...on time I accidently drank a beer with Vicoden in my system. Knocked me out for 6 hours, cold. Pussy. Seriously: Don't drive or dive. Don't take too many or drink too much ie: be cautious. For a healthy adult that plans to sit at home and veg out, it's probably not a big deal. However, acetaminophen (tylenol) and alcohol can be very bad for your liver in excess. IIRC, they both use the same metabolic pathway, and if you overload your liver, the tylenol gets broken down by a different chemical reaction. The byproduct is poisonous. So if you take one darvocet and have a beer, you should be ok, but if you've been taking them all day, and start drinking, or if your liver is already damaged, you're asking for trouble. YMMV. If you decide you don't want to risk it, send my your meds! -Josh If you have time to panic, you have time to do something more productive. -Me* *Ron has accused me of plagiarizing this quote.
