tunaplanet 0 #1 February 7, 2004 Keeping in tradition of my previous poll of your favorite war movie, here's another to get you thinking. Again, probably left out some good ones, hence the 'other' selection, lol. Ok, this will surly brinh on the flames, but I have to pick 'For the Love of the Game.' As manly as I like to think I am, I absolutely loved that movie. It is my all-time favorite. Forty-two
quade 4 #2 February 7, 2004 You left out "Personal Best" and "Breaking Away" (not to mention "Cutaway" ).quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skymama 37 #3 February 7, 2004 Aw, how can anyone vote against Brian's Song? That's definitely the sentimental favorite. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
wzettler 0 #4 February 7, 2004 I gotta say "other." I can pick three skydiving movies that I think are better than those... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.
quade 4 #5 February 7, 2004 The problem is that half of the movies listed aren't sports movies at all, they're movies about other things with a sport background. (BTW, "Personal Best" definately would fit into that category as well). As for pure love of the game, I gotta go with "The Natural".quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Jib 0 #7 February 7, 2004 What about the Karate Kid? Slap shot's a great movie, but the greatest sports movie of all time? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. quade 4 #8 February 7, 2004 Take "Field of Dreams" for example, is that about sports? No. Not really. It's way more complex than just about a magical baseball field. Same deal with "Brian's Song" and "Pride of the Yankees". Yes, about a sports personality, a background, but in both of those cases, it's really about a medical condition and how the person deals with it -- isn't it?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

PLFKING 4 #12 February 7, 2004 I had to vote for Bull Durham. I liked The Longest Yard because of all the old players in it.....but I could never figure out how Burt Reynolds beat out Sonny Sixkiller for the starting QB job.
