Post-surgery recovery...dancing on tables and jumping out of planes...

I had my weekend planned...I was going to jump my little heart out on Saturday/Sunday at the Elsinore instructor Burnout. Friday was the first day since my surgery that I drove all day doing errands and overdid it.

I felt horrid Friday night and awoke so bad on Saturday that I thought that I was going to pass out if I tried to jump. Since the surgery, I had also not been able to sleep almost at all...sometimes this happens to me after anesthesia. I forced myself to stay at home Sat. day. I REALLY wanted to jump the next morning, though, and I had a place to stay that night. Soooo...I ate well and rested, then I drove out to Elsinore for the nighttime festivities.

All I can say is that I was sooo happy when I saw everyone on Sat. night that I felt 110% better! I arrived to see the firedancing by my friend Kelly and his GF. I sat down and bought (or was given) Gia's famous jello-shots left and right! (Bad, bad, Rosa!!!) I ended up dancing on the tables with Karl (DZO), Bob, Darcy, Robyn, Betsy, Lob, etc, etc, etc all night!!! A couple of pants were even dropped at some point (guys, of course)!

It was hours and hours of dancing! Every time that I kept trying to leave...someone else would pull me back up. (Once I was pulled up by my right breast...wtf?) All that dancing after I had felt soooo horrid in the morning...wtf!?! I thought that it would never end! (Marcia is a dancing machine...)

Finally, Darcy and I left and got some fast food. We sat in my car, ate and talked...half awake. Then, we spent the night in the extra bed in Skylord's room, but only after we assured him that we would keep our hands and eyes to ourselves. Just in case, he had on his chastity belt. Finally, because I was drunk, I fell asleep and slept for the entire night (or few hours). I awoke refreshed and ready to SKYDIVE!!! (Well, ok, the first thought that I had when I awoke was...GOD, why did I dance on those tables for so many hours?)

My first jump the next morning was a 4-way with Gawain, Hammo (DZO) and MJ!!! It was sooo much fun! I ended up doing 2 more 4-ways. Then, my surgery pain began to affect me...weight belt didn't help. However, as I was shivering under a loaned blanket and resting up...John Hamilton asked me if I wanted in on another jump that he was organizing. SCREW the pain that I was having!!! YESSSS!!!!

It ended up being a beautiful 10-way!!!! BEEEEEEERRR!!!! It was filmed, and I thought that I would burst from joy when Hammo ran up to me after the jump to tell me that he was sooo proud of how well I had done. I will never forget that moment. Not to mention, I finally met all of the other potential team mates for the new 4-way team that I may be a part of. (If I am good enough...) I am sooo honored that they would ask me to even consider being a part of their team. Hopefully, it will work out!

I was sooo happy when Karl told me that they had raised so much $$$ for the Instructor's Fund. We love our little family so much. I have been giving them anything that I can...and even some that I cannot afford. I know that many others have done the same...even at the cost of not being able to jump as much as desired. Isn't that kind of support beautiful?

Anyway, yesterday, my body felt like it was a million years old, but, today, I am fine! Soooo...my recommendation for post-surgery "mental" recovery is late-night drinking/dancing on tables with good friends and jumping out of planes.

Btw, jello-shots are evil, and/or I may be turning into an alcoholic. It's ok, really...I'm still laughing...

I haven't seen the proof yet that I was involved in ANY way with the table dancing. . .lol!

Gia's jello shots are POTENT. . .and very very dangerous. . .Every time I tried to quit, someone would shove another one in my hand (Greg and the James gang. . .you know who you are. . .)

I had a great time hanging with you Rosa. . .it was a blast. . .Sorry I couldn't stick around longer to jump a couple more times but the evil potion in the Jello Shots was still hard at work Sunday morning so I went home. You were sooooo happy and having so much fun. . .congrats on having such a great day!

Hey good news on getting back in the air munchkin sistah...just be carefull and give your body a chance to heal completely. In the long run it will make you stronger so you can jump LOTS more when the real jumping season gets here.

Keep it up girl. Good luck with your team thing, I hope you get it going! Rest up during the week so you can make those awesome jumps!!
