Sketchy ... Nice job in saving your life and congrats on your "FIRST" cutaway!!! Gotta love those Spinettos. My lesson learned from a Spinetto incident is to never lose track of altitude. I was so insistent that I was going to clear the twists that I got wrapped up in that and lost track of how much altitude I was losing and you CAN lose altitude FAST from Spinettos.

So anyway, glad to hear you are okay my friend ;)

Serious, I would have had to concentrate hard if I was spun up in line twists...the most I've ever experienced was 1 1/2. (I don't fly those fancy-pants canopies though and never will.)

Worst line twists i've had so far were on a Sabre II loaded under 1:1.

Glad youre ok, js! Sounds like quite an eventful cutaway!

:)
Angela.

I had some fun line twists on Saturday under my Sabre2 loaded at 1.4:1 It did take some time to get out of them, but since the canopy was pretty much flying straight I didn't worry about them.

The line twists were my fault though, somewhere in between the packjob and my body position.
Fixed both of those and the rest of the weekend: nice smooth openings.. I love my Sabre2...

I was just noting that it can happen even under a Sabre II, in response to acmeskydiver who noted she'd never be getting a "fancy-pants" canopy.

Yeah I think she is getting a Triathalon and a SMART reserve that she won from AeroDyne.. with her new rig.

Yeah, must be nice to win stuff:) Only thing i've ever won was tickets to a Boston concert.

Well, I have never jumped a Tri, but I assume it is possible to get line twists on them, too. Maybe not as likely, but possible. You'd know better, tho, since you have one ? (ur profile lists tri). I just didn't want her to think she was exempt because she isn't getting an elliptical.

Angela.

Aaaaaaw Iwan, that is so sentimental!!!:):P;)

I know how you feel because I have felt that way about all my gear and if I don't, I get rid of it.

That's good. Please realize I was not insulting Sabre II's... I think they're great canopies:) I was just noting that it can happen even under a Sabre II, in response to acmeskydiver who noted she'd never be getting a "fancy-pants" canopy.

ha ha.. it can happen under anything!
I started off static line, so I have seen my share of line twists, even a Manta 260 can get some nice ones :P

I know you weren't insulting Sabre2's Angela, that's not why I put that response in..

No no, Angela. You see I am exempt from line twists. It says very explicitly in my contract "Skydiver will not perform with line twists." :D:D Tee-hee....

Too bad I can't sign a contract like that in real life...:S
