Last year, I was third on the list for admission, but they only took two (one of which later informed them that she was not coming, but far too late for them to make an offer to me). So I've been hanging around the department, sitting in on classes, and reworking and polishing papers to submit as writing samples (as well as publication). All that's left to do now is wait. I went through aural skills at Indiana University, then taught sophomore-level aural skills while at the University of Michigan. Most music students HATE aural skills (and I heard all about it both as a student and an instructor) but I kind of liked it. When they found this out, they whacked me over the head and locked me in a dark room without food or drink until I agreed to keep studying theory. By the way, because I know too well the makeup of TB, I should probably clarify that that is AURAL skills, with an A-U!
