tunaplanet 0 #29 February 11, 2004 My name? Tuna was my nickname in the Navy. My first job was a SAR Swimmer. I was always a strong swimmer, so the nickname stuck. Trust me, I hated it at first but what are you going to do? Forty-two
Sheenster303 0 #30 February 11, 2004 My screen name comes from my name which is Sheena. Sheenster isn't even my nickname but for some reason it sounded good at the time I registered here. I don't like it now but I'm already an addict so I don't want to change it now. The 303 comes from my birthday and my favorite number. My bday is March 3rd and it somehow became my favorite number.I'm so funny I crack my head open! P.M.S. #
tunaplanet 0 #31 February 11, 2004 So, ACME Skydiver, what's YOUR name about? Or should I assume you're an avid Roadrunner and Coyote fan Forty-two
ACMESkydiver 0 #32 February 11, 2004 I love YOURS!!! So I think we prolly know, but come on! How did you pick yours? Is there a personal story behind it?? Mine? Well, when I started student static line progression, on my first jump with my jm, i kept feeling like I was falling 'under' him. When we landed, he said "Day-um, you fall fast." So on subsequent jumps he adjusted immediately and we never had a prob. after...However, I had a new jm for my RW requirements, and when we touched down, he said "Day-um...she falls really fast!!!" Such has been the quote uttered from every instructor/coach I have ever flown with. I guess nobody expects 5'4" to scream earthwards at the speeds I reach (I was over-arching as well, until one of my coaches took video and showed me) Since I fall like Wile E. Coyote holding an anvil falling off a cliff, 'ACME' seemed appropriate. And I'm just a Looney Toons kinda gal anyhow! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. NoShitThereIWas 0 #44 February 11, 2004 These are all GOOD stories. Lets all just remember to play nicely out there like good little skydivers !!! People used to PM me and ask where I got my screenname ... Well, I sort of wanted to pick something somewhat original and when I used to look in the Paragear catalog they had this one T-Shirt of the guy going tandem, body half out the door of the airplane with a terrified look on his face. The T-Shirt read: No shit there I was, thought I was going to die ... That shirt always gave me a chuckle and reminded me of my first jump. (Wow, that was a while ago). Very interesting stories from the rest of you ... thanks for sharing and keep em coming.Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
