What's going wrong on your landings? - I think I'm spoiled, because my landings have been really fine lately. I attribute it to flight training i.e. knowing how to land an airplane helps. Good luck figuring out what you need to fix. -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
2fat2fly 0 #28 February 13, 2004 Sunrise has all of my gear right now, so if I jumped it would only be once But, I don't have a problem with Friday the 13th...However, I have said before that the one thing I will NEVER say on exit is "Hey ya'll, watch this!"--that would be asking for troubleI am not the man. selbbub78 0 #29 February 13, 2004 Didn't even realize it was today, until another thread. I think i may stroll out to make a jump I've never had a reserve ride before. Good luck figuring out what you need to fix. Thanks Jeff...actually inconsistency is what's wrong with my landings....I've had to take a month off of jumping from surgery and then illness, so Wednesday was my first time back in the air since then...and I jumped 3 different rigs, 3 different canopies, and just totally forgot what the heck I was doing. The first canopy was a Hornet, and I've never stood up a landing on that sucker...add to that the fact I misjudged the wind on landing by, say, 180 degrees... I was just trying to convince Amazon (she was on the ground watching) that I was really intending on swooping that thing, just dragging everything from my waist down... Amazon says I was flaring too high and not finishing it off with the Hornet...then too high on the big student rig I was renting...then I honestly don't know what the hell happened on the last one...air just disappeared from below/in front of me and I fell outta the sky & just killed my left side -my fault partly: I totally forgot that I needed to flare asymetrically on that canopy, it pulls to the left...so I flared evenly whilest falling and it landed me hard on my left side. No excuse, crap I'd been landing that same dang canopy before. Amazon suggested I get someone to video my landings and go over them with a coach; I think that's a good idea. I also think getting rid of the rig and canopy variability will do wonders once my shiney new get-up comes in! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
