Beerlight 0 #7 February 14, 2004 The Airbus was "not" making a landing that day. There was NO malfunction of the fly-by-wire flight control system (FCS) that day. There was a malfunction by the pilot on his "knowledge" of the FCS. -- The DC-9 was being tested for a specific sink rate landing. The test pilot allowed a much faster sink rate to develop than what was called for on the test card, and was unable to arrest the sink rate. Strong fucking airplane. He actually was able to use reverse thrust on the engines "after" losing the tail. Only one injury that day by a test engineer on-board...his ankle. The 747 landing was just freakin cool............
