Skydive2 1 #1 February 14, 2004 Hi, we currently have lexan roll up doors installed on our Cessna 182's. We've been using a sold sheet of lexan, and putting the metal bars for strength (like a King Air door). Recently we've had a lot of problems with the doors cracking, and in some cases breaking when being opened and closed. I know that most Otters, and Caravan's have lexan door that are "pieced" together (not a sold sheet of lexan) I was wondering if any one had a pic of two of that type of door that we could use a a reference for making a better door. Any and all info is greatly appreciated! Thanks lance
PhreeZone 20 #2 February 14, 2004 Lance, you might want to contact Paul Fayard at Carolina Sky Sports. He has a STC to do this type of work for 182's. Plus he makes all the Twin Otter doors for his planes. The boys in his shop can at least tell you if you are doing it in a way that vilotates the STC on the plane currently to have a sliding door installed.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
