Where was George during those Months

Great. Now can both sides get back to the issues? Let's start with the debt.

No likely, since it appears that they'll be gearing up to "eat their own" once other Kerry issues flare up. Even if Kerry doesn't attach himself to these silly attacks, if they start to backfire, he's toast. I've never seen a candidate boast so much about his service record. Not that I don't think service is highly admirable, but it is a poor-quality attention getter.

I don't remember this much hooplah over Clinton's non-service record in '92 or '96, but I wasn't really paying attention to that issue at the time.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Hell I just want to see his LOGBOOKS.. screw the pay records.

I'm with you, Jeanne. His logbooks would settle things (at least for us B|).

It wasn't this much hooplah. The race this year looks like its going to get really freak'n dirty. That's a shame, really, that folks have to rely on dirty politics to accomplish anything. However dirty politics is a big part of American history...

I agree with amazon and MH how may flying hours did GW perform once he qualified on the F102. Then subtract the hours he needed to qualify for flt pay.

So you know I have not heard a single thing in the last 4 years about people like Timothy McVeigh and all the various militias.... I guess when Kerry gets elected we will have all of those good conservatives out doing theri overthrow the government thing again.

I want to clarify something here. Timothy McVeigh was no more a good conservative than Ted Kascinski was a good liberal. They're called murderers driven by their fanatical ideals. To infer that McVeigh was a good conservative is an insult to true Conservatives.

I know you are smarter than that Jeanne.

And he was a member of militias and Ultra Right wing groups.. seems that is about as conservative as it gets... just like the CCC who is solidly behind this administration as well.

I think for me its simply.. what he said he would do and what he has done...

He claims to have served yet the circumstances of his getting in ( time and place and circumstances were different 34 years ago..) just scream privilege and for such a Hawk you would have thought he had flown combat missions over Hanoi. I knew guys that did at the time and surprisingly their outlook on life was different. Way too many men went over there and did serve.. and did not come back.. far more died over there yet their physical shells still walk among us.

You could have said the same about Clinton or Kerry. People are, for the most part, almost completely uninformed about anything in government. Ask ten people who their senators and congressmen are; nine won't know. Ask them how many electoral votes their state has, or how many seats there are on their state legislature. Same thing.

I would be impressed if people simply got a presidential candidate's voting record while he was in government, or history of actions taken when he was governor. That will tell them how he will administer his office in the future, and has far, far more to do with what kind of a president will make than who he slept with, how many times he actually showed up for military duty, and what drugs he took when he was 28.
