Define "legal".

Legal to run? Legal to use? Legal to download anything from? Legal for them to allow you to download stuff? Legal for you to download stuff from?

It's semantics, but they're important questions. What are you looking for?

IE, you wont' get arrested for using Kazaa, but you'll probably go nuts from the spyware they'll install. If you download thousands of copyrighted .mp3's, the music industry might sue you. If you share thousands of .mp3's, the music industry will sue you.

A better option then Kazaa is called "Kazaa lite", it doesn't have the spyware. It's hard to find because Kazaa sued to have it taken down.

I used to use Kazaa but stopped about 6 months ago. I went back into the site last night and see that it is now a pay site. I don't know if that makes it legal. I also went into ipodtunes and it too is a a pay site.

doesn't have to be alot..... just depends.. i got a notice from my isp with a complaint from paramount pictures for a movie i had on there....... lets say this... i have since deleted anything i don't actualy "own" the rights to....... i aint going to jail for something liek this... if i did it would be big like international bank robey of somthing.... maybe trying to take over the world , but not copyright infingment.....

i'd like to see a site that is try for 30 days if ya like the music pay like a buck or it and yo ucan then have unlimited use of it...... just like if you bought the cd and ripped it to your hard drive.. proly is places like that i just don't know about em yet....
